White Living Room Furniture – Over 12 years ago we bought our first family home in the City of Robin Hood Nottingham. We needed to stretch our budgets and be tremendously inventive as cash was tight. This included utilizing our old bath panel as part of this dcor in the room.
Interesting and sounds like challenge doesn’t it? Well here is how it came about.
Is at a leafy suburb of the city. My partner and I had stepped up moving to the area and decided to purchase the best home we could manage in the area. I guess we’d taken to heart the mantra location, location, location’.
As a result we ended up with a actual fixer-upper that demanded massive renovation. In joists where rotten and our home the floor boards, the windows needed changing plus we had gas electrical and heating services. The garden was Jurassic though it did have some rose bushes in, looking. In all we’d all taken on a massive cash draining task.
Not to be discouraged about turning our project into a 15, we set. One of the facets of the home was of the 1930’s features. This comprised fantastic internal doors that we got stripped along with some first cast iron fireplaces.
A feature that was central was actually produced by the fireplaces . Nevertheless both fireplaces urgently needed restoring and needed some serious job.
We used special chemicals to strip all the soot off and scorch marks themselves. Then we preserved that the appearance and replaced and removed the surrounds with new types that had a feel.
The challenge came after we removed the hearth in our living space. Replacing this appeared to be difficult. We didn’t have a lot of cash which limited our selection of tiles that are fresh. In fact we ended up searching from the budget ranges that whilst nice didn’t fit in with the theme of the room.
It was then that I had an idea. A couple of days before we replaced our old tub and ripped out. In fact at this point it was sitting taken down to the dump and on our driveway waiting to be loaded into a jump. My partner had the way it was a shame to ditch it and remarked about the black marble panel that is lovely. Get down it to be used as our fire hearth and my idea was to take this.
Chancing upon a rock mason took a quick look through a neighborhood small business directory and a couple of calls. I’m glad we found a professional as not only did he cut it but also provided us guidance on how to take care of a new fire hearth that is cherished.
We installed it using concrete to hold it in place. I bought some matching tiles to go round the edge of the flame and then took a trip itself.
The final result is exceptional and we find guests to our home commenting on the feature fireplace in our front room. Obviously they are always amazed when we are clean and explain our resourceful use of the bath panel.
