Valances For Living Room – Over 12 years ago we purchased our first family house in the City of Robin Hood Nottingham. As cash was tight we needed to extend our budgets and be creative. This included utilizing our tub panel as part of the dcor in the front room.
Challenge that is interesting and sounds like does not it? Well here is how it came about.
The house we purchased is in a really suburb of the city. Both my spouse and I had awakened moving to this area and decided to buy the house we can afford in the area that was best. I guess we had taken to heart the mantra location, location’.
As a result we ended up using a that demanded massive renovation. In our home of the floor planks and joists where rotten, the windows needed changing plus we had electric, gas and heating services. The garden was Jurassic though it did have some rose bushes in looking. In all we had all taken on a cash.
Not to be discouraged about turning our newly acquired job into a house we set. One of the attractive aspects of the house was the features of of the original 1930. This included fantastic also and doors which we have stripped some genuinely nice first cast iron fireplaces.
A characteristic was actually created by the fireplaces . However both fireplaces needed some serious job and needed restoring.
We utilized chemicals to strip of the soot that was older and scorch marks in the fires themselves. Then we preserved the look and eliminated and replaced the wooden surrounds with types which had a rustic feel.
The challenge came after we eliminated the hearth in our room. Replacing this appeared to be really hard. We did not have cash which restricted our choice of tiles that are fresh. In fact we ended up searching in the budget ranges which whilst did not fit in with the theme of the room at dozens of tile swatches.
It was then that I had an idea that is inspired. A few days until we replaced our previous tub from the family bathroom and ripped out. In fact at this stage it was sitting taken down to the dump and on our drive waiting to be loaded to a skip. My spouse had it was a shame and also remarked about the lovely black marble panel. My idea was to take this and get it cut down to be used as our fire hearth.
Finding a rock mason took a quick look through a small business directory and a few calls. I’m happy we discovered a professional as not only did it cuts to size but also provided us advice on how to care for a fire hearth that is cherished that is new.
We installed it using cement to hold it in place. I purchased some tiles to go around the border of the fire and took a visit itself.
The final result is exceptional and even to this day we find guests to our house commenting on the feature fireplace in our front room. Needless to say they are constantly amazed when we come clean and clarify our resourceful use of the tub panel.
