Red Living Room Set – We bought our first family house in the City of Robin Hood Nottingham. As cash was tight be extremely inventive and we had to extend our budgets. This included utilizing our tub panel as part of the dcor from the front room.
Challenge that is interesting and like does not it? Well here is how it all came about.
Is in a really suburb of town. Both my partner and I had stepped up moving to this area and decided to purchase the house we can afford in the area. I guess we had taken to heart the mantra location, location, location’.
As a result we ended up with a actual fixer-upper that demanded renovation. In joists where rotten and our new house all the floor planks, the windows needed changing plus we needed gas electrical and heating solutions. The garden was Jurassic though it did have some rose bushes in, looking. In all we had all taken on a massive money.
Not to be discouraged about turning our project into a 15, we set. One of the facets of the house was all the features of the original 1930. This comprised fantastic doors that we got stripped and also some first cast iron fireplaces.
A characteristic that was central was really produced by the fireplaces in both the living and dining room areas. Nevertheless both fireplaces needed some serious work and needed restoring.
We used particular chemicals to strip off all the soot that was older and scorch marks in the flames themselves. Then we preserved the overall appearance and replaced and eliminated the wooden surrounds with ones that had a feel.
The challenge came after we eliminated the hearth in our living room. Replacing this seemed to be hard. We did not have a lot of cash which limited our choice of new tiles. In fact we ended up looking in the budget ranges that whilst did not fit in with the theme of the room at heaps of tile swatches.
It was then that I had an idea. A couple of days until we ripped out and replaced our tub. In fact at this stage it was sitting on our drive waiting to be loaded into a jump and taken down to the dump. My partner had the way it was a shame to dump it and remarked about the black marble panel that is beautiful. Get down it to be used as our newest fire hearth and my thought was to take this.
Finding a stone mason just took a glance through a couple of calls and a local business directory. I am happy we found a specialist as not only did he cut it to size but also provided us guidance about the best way to care for a precious fire hearth.
We installed it using cement to hold it in place. I then took a visit and then bought some fitting mosaic tiles to go around the edge of the fire itself.
The final result is exceptional and even to this day we locate guests to our house commenting on the feature fireplace in our front room. Obviously they are amazed when we are clean and clarify our resourceful use of the old tub panel.
