Pottery Barn Living Room

Pottery Barn Living Room – Over 12 years ago we purchased our first family house in the City of Robin Hood Nottingham. Be inventive and we needed to stretch our funds as cash was tight. This included using our tub panel that was previous as part of the dcor from the front room.

Challenge does not it? Well here is how it all came about.

Is at a really leafy suburb of town. My spouse and I had stepped up moving to the area and decided to purchase the house we can manage in the place that was best. I guess we had taken to heart the mantra location, location, location’.

Because of this we ended up using a that required massive renovation. In our new home of the floor boards and joists where rotten, the windows had shifting plus we had gas electrical and heating solutions. The backyard was Jurassic though it did have some brilliant rose bushes in, looking. In all we had all taken on a money.

Not to be discouraged we set about turning our newly acquired project. One of the attractive aspects of the house was all the features of of the 1930. This included fantastic doors which we have stripped professionally along with some genuinely nice cast iron fireplaces.

The fireplaces created a feature that was central . Nevertheless both fireplaces had some serious job and urgently needed restoring.

We utilized special chemicals to strip all of the soot off and scorch marks themselves. Then the wooden surrounds were eliminated and replaced by us with types which had a rustic feel and preserved that the appearance.

The challenge came after we eliminated the hearth in our space. Replacing this seemed to be really hard. Firstly we didn’t have cash which restricted our choice of tiles. Actually we ended up searching from the budget ranges which whilst didn’t fit in with the whole theme of the room.

It was then that I had an inspired idea. A couple of days before we replaced with our previous tub from the family bathroom and ripped out. Actually at this point it was sitting taken down to the dump and on our driveway waiting to be loaded into a jump. My spouse had remarked about the marble panel that is lovely and it was a shame to ditch it. Get it cut down to be utilized as our newest fire hearth and my idea was to take this.

Finding a stone mason just took a quick look through a local business directory and a couple of calls. I am happy we found that a professional as not only did it cuts but also provided us advice about how best to take care of a fire hearth that is precious that is new.

We installed it using concrete to hold it. I purchased some matching mosaic tiles to go round the border of the flame and then took a visit to our discount ceramic tile store itself.

The final result is outstanding and we find guests to our house commenting on the feature fireplace in our room. Needless to say they are constantly amazed when we come clean and explain our resourceful use of the tub panel.
