Living Room End Tables – We purchased our first family house in the mythical City of Robin Hood Nottingham. We needed to extend our budgets and be extremely creative as cash was tight. This included utilizing our bath panel that was old as part of the dcor from the front room.
Challenge that is sounds like and intriguing does not it? Well here is how it all came about.
Is at a very leafy suburb of town. My partner and I had stepped up moving to this area and decided to purchase the best home we can manage in the place that was best. I guess we’d taken to heart the mantra location, location’.
As a result we ended up with a real fixer-upper that required renovation. In our new house the floor boards and joists where rotten, the windows had changing plus we had gas, electrical and heating services. The garden was Jurassic although it did have a few rose bushes in looking. Overall we had taken on a money.
Not to be discouraged about turning our project into a house we set. One of the attractive facets of the home was all of the 1930’s features. This included fantastic also and doors which we got stripped some first cast iron fireplaces.
The fireplaces produced a characteristic in both the living and dining room areas. Both fireplaces urgently needed restoring and had some job.
We utilized chemicals scorch marks from the fires and to strip off the older soot themselves. Then the wooden surrounds were removed and replaced by us with types which had a feel and maintained that the appearance.
The challenge came after we removed the hearth in our room. Replacing this seemed to be really hard. We didn’t have much cash which restricted our choice of fresh tiles. Actually we ended up searching in the budget ranges which whilst nice didn’t fit in with the whole theme of the room.
It was then that I had an idea that is inspired. A few days until we ripped out and replaced our tub. Actually at this stage it sat taken down to the dump and on our driveway waiting to be loaded into a jump. My partner had remarked about the lovely marble panel and how it was a shame to dump it. My thought was to take this and make it cut down to be utilized as our newest fire hearth.
Chancing upon a stone mason only took a glance through a few calls and a neighborhood small business directory. I’m happy we discovered that a professional as not only did it cuts to size but also offered us guidance on how best to take care of a precious fire hearth that is new.
We installed it quickly using concrete to hold it in place. I purchased some mosaic tiles to go around the edge of the flame and took a visit itself.
The final result is exceptional and we find guests to our house commenting on the feature fireplace in our front room. Obviously they are constantly amazed when we are clean and clarify our use of our bath panel.
