Living Room Ceiling Fan – Over 12 years ago we purchased our first family house in the City of Robin Hood Nottingham. Be creative and we had to extend our funds as money was tight. This included utilizing our bath panel that was previous as part of this dcor in room.
Intriguing and sounds like challenge does not it? Well here is how it came about.
Is at a very suburb of the city. My partner and I had awakened moving to the area and decided to purchase the house we could afford in the area that was best. I guess we’d taken to heart the mantra location, location, location’.
Because of this we ended up using a real fixer-upper that demanded renovation. In our home the floor boards and joists where rotten, the windows had changing plus we needed heating, gas and electrical solutions. The garden was marginally Jurassic although it did have some rose bushes in looking. Overall we had taken on a massive money draining task.
Not to be discouraged about turning our job we set. One of the facets of the house was the features of of the 1930. This included fantastic internal doors which we got stripped professionally along with some genuinely nice cast iron fireplaces.
The fireplaces produced a characteristic that was central . Both fireplaces urgently needed restoring and had some serious job.
We utilized chemicals scorch marks from the fires and to strip the soot themselves. Then we preserved the look and removed and replaced the surrounds with types which had a rustic feel.
The challenge came when we removed the hearth in our room. Replacing this appeared to be hard. We did not have money which limited our choice of tiles. Actually we ended up looking from the budget ranges which whilst did not fit in with the theme of the room at heaps of tile swatches.
It was then that I had an inspired idea. A couple of days before we ripped out and replaced with our bath from the family bathroom. Actually at this stage it was sitting on our drive waiting to be loaded to a jump and taken down to the dump. My partner had it was a shame to ditch it and remarked about the beautiful black marble panel. Get down it to be used as our fire hearth and my idea was to take this.
Chancing upon a rock mason took a quick look through a local business directory and a couple of calls. I am glad we discovered a specialist as not only did it cuts to size but also provided us advice about how best to care for a new fire hearth that is precious.
We installed it using cement to hold it. I purchased some mosaic tiles to go around the edge of the fire and then took a trip itself.
The end result is exceptional and we locate guests to our house commenting on the beautiful feature fireplace in our front room. Needless to say they are amazed when we are clean and clarify our resourceful use of our previous bath panel.
