Living Room Cabinets

Living Room Cabinets – We bought our first family house in the mythical City of Robin Hood Nottingham. As money was tight be inventive and we had to stretch our funds. This included using our old bath panel as part of the dcor in room.

Challenge does not it? Well here is how it came about.

The house we bought is at a very suburb of town. My partner and I had awakened moving to the area and decided to purchase the best house we can afford in the best place. I guess we’d taken to heart the mantra location, location, location’.

As a result we ended up using a real fixer-upper that required renovation. In joists where rotten and our new home of the floor boards, the windows needed changing plus we needed heating, gas and electric services. The garden was Jurassic looking though it did have some rose bushes in. In all we’d all taken on a cash.

Not to be discouraged about turning our newly acquired project into a 15, we set. One of the attractive aspects of the house was the 1930’s features. This included fantastic also and doors which we got stripped professionally some genuinely nice cast iron fireplaces.

A characteristic that was central was created by the fireplaces . Both fireplaces needed restoring and needed some serious work.

We utilized chemicals to strip off of the soot that was old and scorch marks from the flames themselves. Then the surrounds were removed and replaced by us with new ones which had a rustic feel and preserved the total appearance.

The challenge came after we removed the hearth in our room. Replacing this seemed to be really hard. We did not have money which limited our selection of fresh tiles. In fact we ended up searching from the budget ranges which whilst nice did not fit in with the entire theme of the room at heaps of tile swatches.

It was then that I had an inspired idea. A couple of days until we ripped out and replaced our bath. In fact at this point it was sitting on our drive waiting to be loaded into a jump and taken down to the dump. My partner had remarked about the lovely marble panel and how it was a shame to dump it. Make it cut down to be utilized as our fire hearth and my thought was to take this.

Chancing upon a stone mason only took a glance through a couple of calls and a small business directory. I’m happy we found a specialist as not only did he cut it to size but also provided us guidance on the best way best to take care of a fire hearth that is new.

We installed it fast using concrete to hold it. I bought some mosaic tiles to go around the edge of the flame and then took a visit to our discount tile warehouse itself.

The final result is outstanding and even to this day we find guests to our house commenting on the beautiful feature fireplace in our front room. Obviously they are constantly amazed when we are clean and clarify our use of our bath panel.
