Beach Living Room

Beach Living Room – Only over 12 years ago we bought our first family house in the legendary City of Robin Hood Nottingham. As cash was tight be inventive and we needed to extend our funds. This included utilizing our tub panel as part of the dcor in the room.

Intriguing and like challenge does not it? Well here is how it came about.

Is in a leafy suburb of town. My spouse and I had awakened moving to this area and opted to purchase the home we could manage in the place. I guess we’d taken to heart the mantra location, location’.

Because of this we ended up with a that demanded renovation. In our house the floor planks and joists where rotten, the windows needed shifting plus we needed electrical, heating and gas services. The garden was somewhat Jurassic looking though it did have some brilliant rose bushes in. In all we’d all taken on a cash.

Not to be discouraged about turning our recently acquired job into a 15, we set. One of the aspects of the home was of the 1930’s features. This included fantastic also and doors that we got stripped professionally some cast iron fireplaces.

A central feature was created by the fireplaces . Nevertheless both fireplaces needed some serious work and needed restoring.

We used particular chemicals to strip of the soot and scorch marks in the flames themselves. Then we replaced and removed the wooden surrounds with new ones that had a rustic texture and preserved the overall appearance.

The challenge came when we removed the hearth in our living room. Replacing this seemed to be really hard. We didn’t have a lot of cash which restricted our selection of tiles. In fact we ended up searching in the budget ranges that whilst fine didn’t fit in with the entire theme of the room at dozens of tile swatches.

It was then that I had an idea that is inspired. A few days until we replaced with our bath from the family bathroom and ripped out. In fact at this point it was sitting taken down to the dump and on our driveway waiting to be loaded to a jump. My spouse had remarked about the marble panel that is lovely and how it was a shame. Get it cut down to be used as our fire hearth and my thought was to take this.

Finding a stone mason only took a quick look through a few calls and a local business directory. I am glad we found a professional as not only did he cut it but also offered us advice about how to take care of a precious fire hearth.

We installed it quickly using cement to hold it in place. I then took a trip and then bought some mosaic tiles to go round the edge of the flame itself.

The final result is exceptional and we locate guests to our house commenting on the feature fireplace in our room. Needless to say they are amazed when we come clean and explain our use of the old bath panel.
